In medical technology and biology, the term impermeable primarily refers to membranes that are impermeable to certain substances and therefore perform a barrier function. The work was inspired by the glass ceiling phenomenon, which was coined by Marylon Loden. This refers to the phenomenon of the glass ceiling, which applies to FLINTA (women, lesbians, inter - non-binary trans and agender people). No matter how good these people are at their job, there will always be a glass ceiling that they cannot get through. This can be seen in the gender pay gap or in the predominantly male leadership positions. Due to the current neoliberal market economy and pop feminism, the glass ceiling is no longer made of rigid glass but rather a movable membrane.
